To perform frequency calculations in ArmedXpert based on the frequencies that are added into ArmedXpert. This guides explains how to add new frequencies.
Click on the '''Add Frequencies''' button, under the Frequencies tab in the Interpretation section of the ArmedXpert Options window.
The '''Add Frequencies''' window will open. There are three different ways to add frequencies to ArmedXpert. The data can be entered in manually, pasted in, or imported in. Each way is explained separately below.
Note: Make sure you enter in all the data correctly. The Race and Locus can not be edited later. So, if either are incorrect, they can not be changed once you commit the frequencies to ArmedXpert.
First method: Enter the frequency data manually into ArmedXpert.
Start at the first box under the Race column. Enter in the correct race. Then proceed by clicking on the tab key to each next column. Type in the locus, then the Allele, and finally the Frequency amount. Clicking on the tab key will take you to the next line. Continue manually filling in all the data. Once finished, go to final step below.
Second method: Paste in the data.
To do this first open the data into excel. It should be in the same order, Race, Locus, Allele, and Frequency. Highlight all the data you want to paste into ArmedXpert. Hit the Copy button in Excel.
Go back to ArmedXpert and click on the Paste button. All the data will show up in the Text Import Window. Click the OK button.
All the data will show up in the Add Frequency window. Proceed to final step below.
Third method: Import a .txt or .csv file into ArmedXpert.
Click on the Import from file button. Select the appropriate .txt or .csv file from the Open window.
The Text Import window will open. Hit the Ok button.
All the frequency data will appear in the Add Frequencies window. Proceed to final step below.
Note: An extra blank row at the end of your data can be added when importing or pasting your frequencies. If this happens, click on the extra blank row and hit the "Delete" button on your keyboard.
Final Step: Add Source Name and Commit
Once all frequency data has been added. Type in a Source Name in the box right of Source. An optional description can be filled in below Source. Click on the '''Commit''' button and the frequencies will be added. Finally, click on the close button to close the window.
